I originally ordered this vest in XL based on other reviewers' suggestions to up size, but I returned it for a large. Vests should fit snugly and not be loose. I'm 5"9" and 175lbs and the large was a good fit for me. The material is not as heavy as I expected based on the photos but it is not flimsy. It is well constructed with a nice liner. For the money it is a really nice item. I have nicer vests but then they cost several times what this one did. Overall, I am very happy with it.

I may cut them off and replace them. Brown buttons with a black vest? Odd choice. Not sure what the half moon pocket is for next to the button holes.
